c2 introduces see too, the blog

THE BLOG

This blog will chronicle our curatorial process as exhibitions develop and then come to life — to add transparency to our ways of thinking, to communicate and articulate our observations of the culture: art, movies, architecture, design, fashion, food, fun, oddities, ideas. We claim that the exhibitions we develop — international, cross media contemporary art and design — predict, reflect and explore current cultural issues. Here we hope to offer on-going evidence.

CURATORSQUARED

Judy Fox and Ginger Duggan met in 2001, when Ginger, curator at the Museum of Art in Fort Lauderdale, coordinated the presentation of two exhibitions that Judy had organized while at the Davis Museum. Our collaboration began to take form when Ginger moved on to be curator at the Bellevue Art Museum in Washington. There we worked together on the conception of the exhibition OVER + OVER that ultimately opened at the Krannert Art Museum and toured nationally. Collaborating so successfully, working hard and having fun creating three major subsequent exhibitions, we formed c2 in 2008.

THE WORK

Our work is often at the crossroads where contemporary art and design intersect. The exhibitions we organize, rooted in the culture and often interdisciplinary in approach, attract audiences beyond those only focussed on contemporary art and design, as the subjects they explore touch so many of us — branding, surveillance, self-indulgence, cyber-life.  We’ve worked with museums across the US, and internationally and our writing is regularly published in books, catalogues and periodicals.

THE TEAM

Ginger

1399566742.375683.IMG_3091I earned my advanced degree at the Savannah College of Art and Design, Georgia. I’ve been curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Lake Worth, Florida, Fort Lauderdale Museum of Art and the Bellevue Art Museum, Washington, among other posts. Living in Orlando, my slant on the world is a healthy contrast to Judy’s northeastern perspective. I avidly vet fashion, design and style, life long passions always filtered through the art historian’s and cultural critics eye.

Judy

JudySwipeWith an undergraduate degree from Bryn Mawr College and graduate degree from the University of Minnesota, I trained at Walker Art Center. I’ve been curator at the Davis Museum and Cultural Center, Wellesley College; Museum of Art, RISD; Institute of Contemporary Art Boston and Visiting Curator at Harvard Art Museums. Based in Boston, I’m always eager to jump on a plane at any excuse, to see something new, seek and follow ideas, to strengthen and create new c2 projects.

Josie

MarfaPradaPortraitI’ve worked in fashion, fitness, art and advertising (the subject of my MA from the Newhouse Communications School at Syracuse University). As I moved between fields hoping that one day I’ll be able to commit to one, I actually realized that these interests and experiences work together and allow me to bring fresh perspective to any one of them.
