Food & Drink of DDW15 & La Biennale di Venezia
We went for the art and design… but needed fuel to keep us going. Here are a few favorites from an exciting adventure to Dutch Design Week and the Venice Biennale.
Amsterdam
Cold drizzle couldn’t dampen the brilliance of the Rikjsmuseum, followed by Winkel’s extraordinary apple cake.
Smoked salmon sandwiches and cappuccinos at Cafe Het Concertgebouw.
Eindhoven, Dutch Design Week
A moving feast at Edhv studio—the exhibition theme No Static, carried through the dynamic.
Warm cocoa and fresh hot poffertjes, prepared before our eyes at a little outdoor cart.
Kazerne outclassed everything else.
Venice, Biennale
Cappuccino and the best croissant outside of France near Santa Maria Formosa, fortify us for the big Arsenale Day.
Yes, Hito Steyrl stole the show at the German Pavilion in the Giardini, as did the grilled octopus at Antico Dolo.
San Polo Rio Tere delle Carampane amuse bouche nearly broke our hearts…
…as did the dessert.
Finally, razor clams, at Osteria alle Testiere, our last night.
Salute at Danieli.
